This photo illustrates the principle of movement. It shows moving water which the eyes naturally follow. The viewer knows the water is moving quickly because of how the stream is broken.
This photo demonstrates the principle of balance. It shows balance because the large door is not centered, but the picture still is still balanced. This is because of the small dark sign off-setting the large door. Even though the door is much larger, the sign balances it because of how dark it is.
This photograph shows the principle of Rhythm. The pattern created by the material of the bulletin board, when looked at closely, creates the allusion of something larger. This photo and its' unsymmetrical pattern, can be compared to something in nature. Some examples include rolling hills from above, or many little scurrying ants.
This photo demonstrates emphasis. I am the only object in the light and in the center of the photo. Because the sunlight is hitting me and not the surrounding buildings, emphasis on me is created.
This photo is an example of unity. Although all the charging spots are slightly different, they are unified by the blue light surrounding all the cells.
This image shows pattern. The repeated element of the Pepsi bottle creates a pattern. These four buttons placed together makes a much more interesting composition than an image of a single bottle.
This image illustrates contrast. The smooth texture and cool color of the door opener contrast to the warm tones and rough surface of the rocks. This is an example of contrast.
